About Us

Here's the story of how a monthly group started during lockdown and ended up as the Mental Health & Well Being Hub

The Hub Story

It all started March 2019.....

The Government announced lockdown, and the dreaded words “Stay at home” were broadcast across the nation. As a business owner of a service-based company, I relied on people to walk through my door to enable me to earn money, as I run a training center, delivering accredited qualifications. On the 23rd March 2020 I was told I had to lock up the office and return home, send my staff home and not to enter the building. This was tragic, I sat back and gathered my thoughts, this is much bigger than me, it is going to affect thousands of other people too, so I thought what can I do to help?

I set about running zoom sessions talking about mental health and how important it is to look after ourselves, I had a lot of volunteer speakers also talking on what became our monthly webinars, over lockdown we covered a range of metal health topics such as anxiety & depression, suicide prevention, eating disorders, father’s mental health, youth mental health, SEN & mental health, addiction, mindfulness, and financial crises and many more important topics. We have some really brilliant speakers, and the numbers of attendees just kept growing, our registration numbers were over the thousand some months. We still continue these free monthly webinars today.

People began asking for the recording, the presentations and details of the speakers, so that when I came up with the idea for the Hub, I thought I can pop them all in one place where people would have access to all the talks and can just pick and choose the relevant topics to them.

We currently have over 160 videos in the hub, and that number is growing each month as we continue to add the speakers from our monthly webinars into the hub. We also have a directory and some good mental health training in there too, and of courses like any product, it is always evolving and growing in content.

The aim of the MHW HUB is to promote positive mental health & wellbeing support, resources, Videos, information and training to all that are part of the hub and our growing community.
